Employee leave and time off policy
Introduction At Pixel Empyrean, we understand the importance of work-life balance and want to support our employees in taking the time they need to rest and recharge. We offer a range of leave and time off options to help our employees manage their personal and professional commitments. This policy outlines the types of leave and time off available to our employees, as well as the process for requesting and taking leave.
Types of Leave and Time Off - Vacation time: Employees are entitled to a certain number of vacation days per year, based on their length of service with the company. Vacation time must be approved by a manager in advance and should be taken in increments of at least one full day.
- Sick leave: Employees are entitled to a certain number of sick days per year, based on their length of service with the company. Sick leave may be used for personal illness, injury, or medical appointments.
- Personal days: Employees are entitled to a certain number of personal days per year, which may be used for any personal or family matter. Personal days must be approved by a manager in advance.
- Bereavement leave: Employees are entitled to a certain number of days of bereavement leave in the event of the death of a close family member.
- Maternity/paternity leave: Employees who are expecting a child or adopting a child are entitled to a certain amount of leave, as per the company's policies and any relevant legislation.
- Disability leave: Employees who are unable to work due to a disability or long-term illness may be eligible for disability leave, as per the company's policies and any relevant legislation.
Requesting Leave and Time Off Employees must request leave and time off in advance using the company's leave request form, which can be found on the company's intranet or obtained from the Human Resources department. Leave requests should be submitted to the employee's manager at least two weeks in advance, unless there is an emergency or unforeseen circumstance.
Approval and Denial of Leave and Time Off Leave and time off requests will be reviewed and approved or denied by the employee's manager, taking into consideration the needs of the team and the business. If a request is denied, the employee may appeal the decision to the Human Resources department.
Accrual and Use of Leave and Time Off Leave and time off is accrued on a rolling basis and can be carried over from one year to the next, subject to certain limits. Employees are responsible for tracking their own leave and time off balances and must ensure that they do not exceed their entitlement.
Pay During Leave and Time Off Employees will receive their regular pay while on vacation or personal days. Sick leave and disability leave may be unpaid, depending on the circumstances and the employee's length of service with the company.
Return to Work Employees are expected to return to work on the agreed-upon date following any leave or time off. If an employee is unable to return to work as scheduled, they must inform their manager and the Human Resources department as soon as possible.
Confidentiality Information about an employee's leave or time off is considered confidential and will not be shared with others without the employee's permission, except as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Compliance with Policy All employees of Pixel Empyrean are expected to comply with this Employee Technology Usage Policy. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Review and Updates This Employee Technology Usage Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure that it accurately reflects the company's needs and expectations. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to employees in a timely manner.
